Temporary Labor & Employment Legal Editor - Minnesota

Practical Law is seeking a temporary Labor and Employment State Specialist Editor contractor to assist with jurisdictional content maintenance for the state of Minnesota.

  • Duration: September 1 – December 31
  • Schedule: Remote, 10-15 hours per week
  • Pay: $45-$50/hr USD

Responsibilities

The State Specialist contractor will coordinate, edit, and update state-specific labor and employment resources, including checklists, standard forms, and policies, in accordance with Practical Law writing style.

Requirements

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • At least six years of experience as a labor and employment lawyer in a law firm or as in-house counsel in Minnesota.
  • General expertise in labor and employment law.
  • Enthusiasm, ambition, and a desire to improve the efficiency of legal services.
  • Understanding of the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys and in-house counsel.
  • Strong communication skills, suitable for a remote environment.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Passion for writing and exceptional editing skills, including:
    • Close attention to detail.
    • Impressive command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English.
    • Ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply.
