Role Description (Commission Only Role)
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement (Commission Only) for a Founding Account Executive, Enterprise Cybersecurity. It is fully remote, open to candidates anywhere in the United States, with a full open territory. You drive revenue growth through full-cycle software sales, generate your own pipeline, manage your accounts, and build relationships with enterprise clients. The role involves understanding customer needs, running the technical conversation, and selling consultatively to security and compliance buyers. You operate independently while working closely with the founder on strategy and complex deals. This contractor Commission Only engagement is designed to convert to a permanent full-time founding team role with equity and salary based on performance and track record.
Qualifications
- Strong full-cycle sales experience, from prospecting and lead generation through close, with no reliance on SDR, sales engineering, or marketing support
- Existing relationships at the CISO, IT Director, or Security and Compliance Manager level
- Background selling cybersecurity, data protection, or software-as-a-service solutions
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly
- Comfort operating in a commission-only structure during the contractor phase
- Ability to work independently and self-source pipeline in an early-stage environment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience selling into regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, legal, or engineering
- Familiarity with data loss prevention, compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, PCI), or AI governance
- Early-stage or founding-team sales experience
- Existing book of business or active buyer relationships you can open quickly
